This training covers the requirements and the process for preventing the introduction of foreign materials into plant structures, systems, and components, commonly referred to as Foreign Material Exclusion (FME), including:

  • Controls and recovery / actions when Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) integrity is lost or unexpected foreign material is discovered.
  • Documents and forms which govern the specific steps necessary to establish and maintain Foreign Material Exclusion Areas to prevent foreign material intrusion and to recover/monitor when a loss of FME integrity has occurred.
  • Directives and guidance designed to place increased focus and emphasis on the prevention of foreign material through the implementation of proactive approaches / measures.
  • The minimum training requirements for certifying an individual to performing the duties of a Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) Controlled Area Attendant (Accountability Technician).
